Action Chapter to Hold Free Landscape Training Class

February 14, 2018

Offering more flexibility for certification training, FNGLA’s Action Chapter is hosting a free evening training class.

“We wanted to do something new and, hopefully, more convenient than ever for industry professionals to take advantage of,” Linda Reindl, FNGLA’s director of Education, said of the chapter-sponsored event. “This class will help prepare industry professionals to take FNGLA’s horticulture professional, landscape technician, and landscape maintenance technician certifications.”

The class is offered as part of FNGLA’s Education on the Go series, a training initiative aimed at making career-advancing training convenient by bringing it directly to industry professionals, according to Reindl.

Billy Butterfield of AmeriScapes Landscape Management Services will head up the hands-on practical training, bringing in a variety of industry specialists.  As FNGLA Certified Landscape Contractor #39, Butterfield has judged certification exams for many years and has identified the training needs of those seeking certification.

The four-week training class will meet Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 4:30-6 p.m., beginning Feb. 20 at UF/IFAS Orange County Extension in Orlando. For more information, or to register, visit the event registration page.
