What is FCPMT?
This technician-level certification is designed to arm industry professionals with the ability to recognize pests common to Florida’s plants and landscapes.
FCPMT targets employees of landscape firms, nursery and greenhouse growers, and state, county, and municipal government employees.
- One year of prior industry work experience is recommended.
- Although highly recommended, no prior training is required.
- This certification is valid for a three-year period.
- Requires 15 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to maintain this certification. (As of July 1, 2026, the renewal fee will be $70 for FNGLA members and $105 for nonmembers.)
This certification DOES NOT replace required licensing by the state to be able to spray. It is designed to provide industry professionals with the ability to recognize pests and damage and report their findings. Proper applicator licensing as required by law needs to be obtained.
Manual
The FNGLA Pest Management Manual is a comprehensive guide for the FCPMT exam. It provides information on the specifications and procedures for the exam, but is also a useful tool as a guide to identify pests in nurseries, greenhouses or in the landscape.
Cost - $65 for FNGLA members and $90 to nonmembers.
