"/>FNGLA’s Certified Landscape Irrigation Service Technician (FCLIST) certification is in its final stages of development, and its accompanying certification training manual manual is now available for purchase at FNGLA's online store.
The exam portion of the new FCLIST will be hands-on with one written section.
An outline of the certification exam is listed below:
Station 1 Parts ID, Safety, Terminology, Codes & Regulations (Written portion)
Station 2 Sprinklers: Types, Sizes, Features, Maintenance-Repair-Replacement
Station 3 Valves: Types, Function, Maintenance, Repair
Station 4 System Controllers: Types, Setting, Function, Maintenance
Station 5 Irrigation Wiring & Splices: Use of Multimeters, Repair of wire, connectors
Station 6 Pipe & Fitting Repairs: Types of and demonstrate different ways to make a repair.
Station 7 Operational Efficiency of Irrigation System
Station 8 Basic Troubleshooting Scenarios
The roll-out date is set for January 22, 2021, with a FCLIST review followed by the exam taking place on February 19, 2021. Both events will be held at FNGLA's office in Orlando.
Future exam and training dates are planned to take place throughout the state of Florida. Great news for providing Florida’s nursery and landscape (and irrigation!) Industries with another professional designation to help set one's self apart!
