FNGLA’s Annual Convention is Open for Business

May 26, 2020

FNGLA’s Annual Convention will bring members from across Florida to the pristine beaches of St. Augustine where they will have a chance to assess the coronavirus impact on individual businesses and the industry as a whole. "Whenever people go through something as unprecedented as we have with the coronavirus, it’s important to gather and exchange stories, compare notes and show care for one another,” explained FNGLA President Shawn Thomas. “Although our Annual Convention is delayed by a couple of months due to the virus situation, it will be a significant time for the coming together and moving forward of the industry.”

Originally scheduled in June, FNGLA’s Annual Convention will take place August 14 -15 at the Embassy Suites Oceanfront Resort on St. Augustine Beach. Optional tours are scheduled for Thursday, August 13 and include guided tours of the dunes and marsh area of Anastasia State Park, and a Chocolate, Wine and Spirits Tour in Downtown St. Augustine.

As is the tradition, the FNGLA Annual Convention will be a mix of business and fun. Included activities are FNGLA’s Board of Directors meeting, FNGLA Chapter Leaders Exchange, the FNGLA Annual Membership meeting and Biz Zone, the Friday evening "Set Sail" Reception and Connections, and the Saturday evening President's "Bon Voyage" Celebration.

FNGLA’s Northeast Chapter is host to this year’s event. Chaired by Leah Roesler (Cascade Outdoor Designs), the local planning committee is rolling out the welcome mat for all FNGLA members, offering a welcome gift, hosting a hospitality room each evening of the event and doing what the FNGLA Northeast Chapter does best, serving up gracious southern hospitality.

Online registration is open for FNGLA’s Convention, with best pricing available to those who register by July 31. Online hotel reservation service is also open, with a special rate of $189 for FNGLA attendees.

FNGLA is closely following the recommended guidance from government authorities and working with the Embassy Suites hotel team to design and stage a safe and responsible event. A Hilton property, the Embassy Suites is adapting the Hilton Healthy CleanStay protocols for maximum cleanliness.
