President's Letter: We're starting to see some progression

May 26, 2020

Welcome to the end of May and beginning of June! We’re starting to see some progression in getting back to work – so this is positive. I hope everybody is staying well - and busy.

Many of FNGLA’s Chapters have adapted beautifully by pivoting to host online meetings, thanks to our innovative Chapter leaders, FNGLA’s membership manager Sandra Pellerin and Zoom! Special thanks to our incredible Chapter members for staying active with their Chapters and being open to discovering new ways to engage with each other. I have had the opportunity to attend a fair number of virtual Chapter meetings in the past couple of months, including my home chapter - FNGLA’s Northeast Chapter. It’s been nice to see everybody!

As we continue seeing gradual positive movement toward returning to the world (albeit we’ll be returning to a ‘new normal’ of sorts), we’re still looking forward to holding FNGLA’s Annual Convention on August 14-15 in St. Augustine. I, for one, can’t wait for the opportunity to get our FNGLA family together to share in ocean breezes -- and refreshing cold beverages. It’s definitely going to be a fun time!

While we’re talking about FNGLA events to which I’m looking forward, I’m super excited about the upcoming The 2020 Landscape Show slated for September 17-19 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando. Undoubtedly, it will be another welcome opportunity for our industry to get together and network. And, although there’s sure to be some new safety protocols implemented this year to help us all guard against the dreaded COVID-19, it will still be incredibly comforting to return to the strong The Landscape Show traditions which our industry has come to depend.

Until then, I wish you all the best and hope to see you soon at the fun FNGLA Convention in St. Augustine!

Sincerely,
