Come prepared to be outdoors for part of the day.  Bring your PPE (hard hat, eye protection, ear protection) for best outdoor viewing. In the event of rain, the workshop will stay indoors for the entire class. Remember to dress for your comfort level indoors as well; we cannot always control the room temperature at all locations.

Steps to take to be prepared for an aerial rescue and demonstrations on safe techniques in relief of an injured climber.

11:00 – 12:00 
Chainsaw Safety and Use – Ed Bingle
Being aware of safety precautions will not only protect you, but others around you.  This tool for arborists will be discussed from safety, proper use, to necessary maintenance for longer life.

Climber Safety and Electrical Hazards – Carson Smith, O’Neil’s Tree Service  
Learn important aspects of general climbing safety and an overview of electrical hazards in arboriculture.

2:15 – 2:30

Recognizing the manner in which we conduct our work reflects upon the arbor care profession as a whole.  What steps can we take to maintain a positive image?
