What is it?

FCHP manualFNGLA's Certified Landscape MaintenanceTechnician (FCLMT) program is designed to measure the skills of practicing landscape maintenance technicians. This program serves as a means to train employees, recognize their achievement and raise the standards of working professionals within Florida's landscape industry.

FCLMT is offered as a stand-alone certification and marketed to the landscape industry as an employee training, recognition and advancement program. This certification relies heavily on the Green Industries Best Management Practices.

FCLMT is designed for employees of landscape maintenance firms, as well as state, county & municipal governments and parks & recreation departments.

Those qualified to sit for the FCMLT exam must have a minimum of 1 year experience in Florida's horticulture/landscape industry. Applicants must have completed either the GI-BMP Best Management Practices course or the FNGLA Certified Horticulture Professional (FCHP) exam.

Training for the FCLMT exam is offered on a limited basis prior to a scheduled exam. Training can also be offered in-house with a review conducted by the FNGLA member company hosting the exam. Employers conducting in-house training for their staff are encouraged to utilize the BMP Manual from the Department of Environmental Protection, the FCHP Manual from FNGLA as well as the FNGLA Landscape Maintenance Manual.
